I did not buy my soil directly from you and found a pest. What do I do?
We take prevention against pests in our facilities very seriously!
Our product is manufactured entirely indoors. Access to our facility is tightly controlled. All production areas are continuously monitored for flying insects using sticky traps, and we log all findings. Our patented biological activation and aging process means that our nutrient inputs have been exposed to a significant thermal treatment during production of our BIOCHARGE. Then prior to use, each batch of BIOCHARGE is tested using both emergence tests and Berlese funnels to confirm there are no flying or crawling insect pests present in the BIOCHARGE. This testing is done for every batch of soil we make.
Strict hygiene policies and controlled movement paths are enforced at all of our production facilities. For example, all our staff have to change clothing and footwear before entering the production space. We do not touch our product during production. Any product that falls on the floor becomes waste. Our production facilities are regularly cleaned and once packaged, our product continues to be stored indoors in a monitored space prior to shipping.
We do our best to extend these policies to our retail and distribution partners with written agreements. Unfortunately, the nature of these partnerships does cause us to lose a bit of control over what happens once the media leaves our facility. Things do happen and when they do, we appreciate the heads up! We'll try to reach out, but the best course of action for you would be to report it to the store you bought from. They'll reach out to us and there may be something they can do for you!
