I have problems with fungal pathogens (pythium and Fusarium). What can I do?
Fungal pathogens such as Fusarium are widely present in the environment. However the presence does not automatically result in plant disease. Infection requires the presence of a susceptible host plant and an environment conducive to infection.
The key thing you can do as a grower is to grow a healthy plant. When plants are young or seeds are germinating, overwatering and cold temperatures are your enemy. The best defense is to use disease free plant material and grow a strong plant. Back up good growing practice with a well managed facility with strong protocols and phytosanitary procedures.
