There are mushrooms growing in my soil. What does that mean? Why did that happen? Is it bad?

There are mushrooms growing in my soil. What does that mean? Why did that happen? Is it bad?

Because our soils are biologically active and contain nutrients, they can sometimes grow benign fungi, under particular conditions. A small amount of fungi is nothing to worry about. Fungus spores are everywhere! In our experience and the assessment of Cornell University specialists, these fungi are harmless.

Another contributing factor could be high heat or humidity and if your soil has been stored for a long period of time in the pallet wrap. The combination of high heat and plastic wrap creates an ideal environment for fungi to grow in a biologically active soil. In humid environments, or if you're storing your soil for long period of times, please remove the pallet wrap.

We do everything in our power to lower the risk of contamination in our manufacturing and storage facilities. Our product is manufactured entirely indoors. Access to our facility is tightly controlled, and ventilation is filtered. We enforce strict hygiene policies and controlled movement paths at all of our production facilities. For example, all our staff have to change clothing and footwear before entering the production space. We do not touch our product during production. Any product that falls on the floor becomes waste. Our production facilities are regularly cleaned. Once packaged, our product continues to be stored indoors in a monitored space prior to shipping.
